A Christmas Tradition (Aunt Joelyn's favorite) Ingredients:
2 egg whites |
1 pinch salt |
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar |
2/3 cup sugar |
red food coloring or green food coloring |
12 ounces chocolate chips, mini-morsels |
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract (or more to taste) |
Directions:
1. Beat egg whites until foamy. 2. Add salt and cream of tartar. Beat until stiff. 3. Add sugar gradually while beating. 4. Tint with red or green coloring to desired shade. Fold in chocolate chips and extract. 5. Drop by spoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. (Parchment paper may make removal easier.). 6. Place in preheated 350* oven. TURN OVEN OFF. Leave pan in overnight. In the morning, remove and enjoy. |
