This is a family favorite that is served at all our family dinners by my grandma. She loves to cook and found it in an old church cookbook she got years ago. It makes a good side dish to any dinner and doesn't take long to make. Fast and easy, this one is a keeper. * For a more festive look you could use red onion and add cherry tomatoes in it as well. Ingredients:
1 head cauliflower |
2 -3 heads broccoli |
1 cup mayonnaise |
3/4 cup sugar |
salt (to taste) |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
1/4 cup white vinegar |
1 tablespoon yellow mustard |
1/2-1 lb bacon, fried |
1/2 onion |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, break up cauliflower, broccoli and bacon into pieces. 2. Cut onion into slices, separate into rings and add to bowl. 3. Mix up all other ingredients to make dressing: oil, vinegar, mustard, and mayonnaise and salt. 4. Pour dressing over contents in bowl, stir a few times. 5. Cover and let set overnight in fridge to let flavors combine. 6. Enjoy! |
