Ingredients:
2 lbs smoked pork shanks |
1 quart water |
1 onion, well browned |
1 quart sauerkraut juice |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup cream |
1 egg |
1 tablespoon flour |
3/4 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Cook meat in water until well done. 2. Add onion, sauerkraut juice and sugar. 3. Beat egg, add flour, milk and cream. 4. Add to soup and bring to a boil. 5. Serve with potato dumplings. |
