Savor the sweet flavor of this poached pear dessert. Drizzled in rich hot fudge and beautifully presented, this dish begs to be eaten.
Ingredients:
8 cups water
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
6 bosc or bartlett pears
1 cup hot fudge, warmed
Directions:
1. Mix water, sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
2. Peel pears and put in hot liquid; simmer gently until pears are tender, about 25 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer pears to a rack to cool. Cool cooking liquid separately.
3. Serve 1/4 cup pear syrup with each pear. Top with fudge.
