When plums are ripe and in season, a nice sweet summery dessert Ingredients:
8 large ripe plums |
1 cup sugar divided |
juice of a small lemon |
1/2 pint of heavy cream |
dash of grated nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Pit and peel plums 2. Cut up in small pieces and place in saucepot with 2 Tbs sugar 3. Cook over med low heat, stirring now and then until plums are soft, about 20 minutes 4. Cool and stir in the remaining sugar and lemon juice and beat briefly till smooth 5. Beat the cream and fold into the plum mixture. 6. Chill a few hours until serving, may place in small glass serving bowls etc. 7. Sprinkle over some grated nutmeg. |
