This is great over a roast or with meatballs, or used as a dipping sauce Ingredients:
8 cups plums, chopped and pitted |
4 cups apples, chopped |
2 cups brown sugar |
1 cup white sugar |
3/4 cup onion, chopped |
2 tablespoons mustard seeds |
2 tablespoons chili peppers, chopped |
1 inch fresh ginger, peeled |
1 tablespoon salt |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 cup cider vinegar |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot. 2. Bring to a boil, reduce heat. 3. Cook until thick and syrupy, about 1 1/2 hours. 4. Ladle hot sauce into hot jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. 5. Process 20 minutes in a boiling-water canner. 6. Yields 4 pints. (1 pint serves 4). |
