This recipe goes with Steamed English Plum Pudding Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg yolk |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/4 cup boiling water |
1 cup whipping cream, whipped |
Directions:
1. Cream butter in top of a double boiler; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add yolk and vanilla, beating until well blended. Stir in water. Place over boiling water; cook, stirring occasionally, until smooth. Remove from heat, and cool to room temperature. Chill. 2. Immediately before serving, fold in whipped cream. |
