This is very tasty. Can be served as a cake or as a nice snack. I like it at breakfast time heated with butter on it. Yummy. Ingredients:
1 cup butter softened |
1 cup sugar |
3 eggs |
1 cup molasses |
3/4 cup hot water |
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1-1/2 teaspoons ginger |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. In mixing bowl cream butter and sugar then add eggs and beat on low speed for 2 minutes. 2. Gradually add molasses and hot water. 3. In another mixing bowl combine flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt then gradually add dry mixture to creamed mixture and beat on low for 1 minute. 4. Pour into greased rectangular baking pan and bake for 35 minutes. 5. Cool on wire rack. |
