Plank Roasted New Potatoes

PLANK ROASTED NEW POTATOES This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Brown Estate in Wylie, Texas in 1988.
Ingredients:
4 medium new potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic minced
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon cracked black peppercorns
2 cedar planks soaked in water at least two hours
Directions:
1. Cut potatoes in half lengthwise.
2. In large bowl combine potatoes, oil, salt, pepper and minced garlic then toss to coat.
3. Prepare grill for indirect cooking.
4. Brush planks with olive oil and place on preheated grill.
5. Heat planks until smoking then reduce heat to medium.
6. Flip planks over and place potatoes cut side down on charred side of planks.
7. Close cover and cook 20 minutes then flip potatoes so cut side is up.
8. Continue cooking 30 minutes or until well browned and fork tender.
