Simple stuffing for a weeknight chicken dinner. Only a very few ingredients. Ingredients:
6 cups cubed whole wheat bread |
2 eggs, beaten |
1 tablespoon oil |
1 tablespoon butter |
2 stalks celery, finely diced |
1 onion, finely diced |
5 large mushrooms, chopped |
1 large garlic clove, minced |
2 tablespoons chopped fresh sage |
salt and pepper |
1/4 cup half-and-half, 5 |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375. 2. In medium saute pan, over medium high heat, melt the oil/butter. 3. Add the vegetables and saute until softened. 4. Add the garlic and continue to cook until fragrant. 5. Remove pan from heat and add the sage along with salt and pepper. 6. Place bread cubes into a large bowl. 7. Add the veg mixture along with the eggs and half/half. 8. Mix until all is incorporated. 9. Place mixture in a medium, greased, casserole dish. 10. Bake in oven for 30 minutes. |
