From the side of a box of store-brand bite-sized shredded wheat. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef |
1 1/2 cups shredded wheat cereal, crushed to 3/4 cups |
1 cup pizza sauce, divided |
1 egg, slightly beaten |
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoning salt |
3/4 teaspoon onion powder |
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Combine beef, cereal, 2/3 cups pizza sauce, egg, seasoned salt, onion powder, oregano and pepper in a large bowl. 3. Mix well, then shape into a loaf and place in an ungreased 9x13x2 inch baking dish. 4. Bake 50 minutes. 5. Spread remaining 1/3 cup pizza sauce on top. 6. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. 7. Bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes until meat registers 165 degrees F on a meat thermometer. 8. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing. |
