This is a simple and yummy sauce recipe that doesn't require a lot of special ingredients. It makes enough for 2 to 3 pizzas depending how much sauce you like. I made a batch but kept the extra in the freezer so I could throw together an even faster pizza next time. Recipe from The Pillsbury Cookbook. Ingredients:
1/2 cup onion, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
2 tablespoons oil |
1 cup tomatoes (chopped or halved if using cherry tomatoes) or 1 cup cherry tomatoes (chopped or halved if using cherry tomatoes) |
8 ounces tomato sauce |
6 ounces tomato paste |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons oregano leaves |
2 teaspoons basil leaves |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. In a large skillet, saute onion and garlid in oil until tender. 2. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. |
