I always love to serve appetizers when I throw a dinner party. These work great and they are a nice change to a cheese dip (although I do love a nice cheese dip). :) Ingredients:
1 1/2 # ground meat |
1 tsp onion powder |
1 egg |
1 cup panko |
3 cloves garlic, minced, divided |
1 tsp worcestershire sauce |
salt and pepper to taste |
italian seasoning |
mozzarella cheese, in tiny cubes |
2-3 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce |
1 can (15 oz.) crushed tomatoes |
onion, chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 2. Line a flat baking sheet with parchment paper 3. In a large bowl add ground beef, and next 8 ingredients (through Italian seasoning) 4. Mix thoroughly and shape into 1-inch balls 5. Push cheese into the middle of the ball and re-shape 6. Place on lined baking sheet and bake until browned, 15-20 minutes 7. In a slow cooker, add tomato sauce, tomatoes, Italian seasoning, onion, and garlic 8. Keep hot while meatballs cook 9. Add balls to sauce cook for 10 minutes 10. Serve with toothpicks |
