My mom used to make this when I was little and I still ask for it for my birthday every year!
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 (15 1/2 ounce) can manwich sloppy joe mix
1 (5 1/4 ounce) box kraft macaroni and cheese (plus milk and butter needed)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
1. In large skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Drain off any excess fat. Mix in Manwich and let simmer.
2. Prepare the Macaroni and Cheese according to package. Omit salt from the water.
3. Turn the Macaroni and Cheese on to 12 inch pizza pan and arrange in an even layer, pressing gently into pan.
4. Spoon meat mixture evenly over macaroni, leaving about 1 inch of crust at outer edge.
5. Sprinkle cheese over meat mixture.
6. Bake at 375 F for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted on top. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes.
7. Cut into wedges and serve.
8. A 9 inch pie pan may be substituted. Using a spoon press macaroni firmly onto the bottom and up the sides to form a crust. Add meat filling and top with cheddar cheese. Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
