I got this recipe from my little sister who is a wonderful cook! She got it out of a magazine but doesn't remember which one. It's so simple to make that even an inexperienced cook like myself (with a fear of working with dough) can handle it! Ingredients:
1 lb loaf frozen bread dough (or pizza dough) |
2 eggs, separated |
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1 teaspoon dried parsley |
1 teaspoon dried oregano |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
8 ounces pepperoni |
1/2 lb of cooked ground sausage |
2 cups mozzarella cheese |
1 (15 ounce) jar pizza sauce |
Directions:
1. On a greased baking sheet, roll out the thawed dough into a 15 X 11 inch rectangle. 2. In a bowl, combine the egg whites, parmesan cheese, oil, parsley, oregano, garlic and pepper. Brush over the dough. 3. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. 4. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with the long side. Pinch seam to seal and tuck ends under. 5. Please seam-side down, brush with remaining egg white mixture. (Do not let rise.). 6. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. 7. Warm the pizza sauce, serve with sliced loaf. (Yields about 10 slices.). |
