First try on low sodium (although we'll work on lower sodium later on), low fat, pizza with my spaghetti sauce with added oregano and low fat toppings and cheeses. Ingredients:
1 cups bread flour |
1/2 tsp yeast |
1/3 cup water, warm (110 degrees f.) |
2 tbsp milk, low fat |
1 dash salt |
1 pinch sugar |
1 tsp extra-virgin olive oil |
1 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated |
1 tsp garlic powder |
1 tsp dried basil leaves |
1 tsp dried oregano leaves |
Directions:
1. Add the bread flour to a large mixing bowl making a small well in the center. Add the yeast to the well and then the water as well as slightly warmed milk from a few seconds in the microwave and the olive oil. Mix the ingredients together and knead the dough until it becomes elastic. Form into a ball in the bowl and set aside to rise for 1 hour. 2. Punch the dough down. Add the parmesan cheese and seasonings to the dough and knead the ingredients well into the dough. Form into a circle onto whatever it is you're going to bake your pizza and set aside to rise for about another 40 minutes. 3. Preheat the oven to 450F or 230C. 4. Stretch the dough for a bit and add your sauce, toppings and cheese. 5. Bake for 15 minutes and serve. |
