Christmas at Grandma's every year ended with these cookies and a glass of milk for dessert. Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
1 cup shortening |
2 eggs |
1 cup light vanilla yogurt |
1 dash salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
5 cups flour |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Beat shortening and sugar, add eggs, mix well. 3. Mix in sour cream, salt, soda, and nutmeg. 4. Mix in flour-only adding enough to make a stiff dough. Roll out, cut and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Decorate. Test in the oven, usually about 8 minutes. |
