This is a nice corn bread, top with melted butter and honey or syrup,, mmmm love it Ingredients:
2 cups stone ground yellow corn meal |
2 tsp. baking powder |
1 tsp baking soda |
1 tsp salt |
1 egg beaten slightly |
1 cup buttermilk |
1/4 c. oil or melted shortening |
Directions:
1. Combine first 4 ingredientsin a bowl. 2. Mix well. 3. Add buttermilk.,egg and oil or melted shortening. 4. Stir just until dry ingredients are moistened-do not beat. 5. Pour into well greased 8 inch baking pan dusted with cornmeal. 6. Bake in hot oven 425 20 min. or until done and light golden brown. 7. serve with butter, honey or syrup... enjoy |
