Entered for safe-keeping. An accompaniment for grilled meats per California Sizzles, but I think this would also add instant pizzazz to steamed vegetables. Ingredients:
4 red onions, peeled and thinly sliced |
1 cup white vinegar |
1 cup sugar |
Directions:
1. Cover onions with boiling water. Let stand 5 minutes. Drain. 2. Cover again with boiling water for another 5 minutes. Drain. 3. Combine vinegar and sugar and pour over onions. Store in jars in refrigerator. Serve cold. |
