I use to order this from a foodcourt before the whole mall was closed down for renovation . So , nowadays whever the craving hits , I make it at home . Ingredients:
1/2 kilo basmati rice , washed and drained |
i can of pineapple , drained and cubed |
1 onion , chopped |
3.5 c water |
5 tbsps low fat evaporated milk |
1 tbsp masala powder |
handful of roasted cashew nuts , fried raisins and |
blanched and stir fried almonds |
5 tbsp olive oil |
salt |
sprig of corriander leaves |
Directions:
1. Fry the pineapple in some oil . Set aside . 2. Fry the onion in the same pan until golden brown . 3. Add the rice and fry for few minutes . 4. Add the masala pwd . Fry . 5. Add the water , milk , pineapple , nuts , raisins , salt . 6. Bring to boil and simmer for 15 mins until the rice is cooked . 7. Garnish with almonds and some corriander leaves . |
