Pineapple Orange Russian Tea |

The absolute BEST remedy for a cold! This is a bit different from most Russian tea recipes, much tastier in my opinion. But I'm partial since it's my mom's recipe! Delicious served hot or cold. It also freezes well. It makes such a big batch-I generally put 1 pitcher in the fridge and 1 in the freezer. Ingredients:
6 cups water |
1 cup sugar |
4 tea bags |
1 (16 ounce) can orange juice concentrate |
1 quart unsweetened pineapple juice |
6 sticks cinnamon |
1 tablespoon whole cloves |
1 liter ginger ale |
Directions:
1. In a large pot bring 6 cups water and 1 cup sugar to boiling. Add 4 regular size tea bags (or 2 family size; regular or decaf) and boil for 5 minutes. 2. Remove tea bags and reduce heat to low. Add 1 large can orange juice concentrate, stirring lightly to help it melt. Once orange juice is incorporated, add 1 can unsweetened pineapple juice, 6-7 sticks of cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon whole cloves. Slowly pour in 1 liter of ginger ale and heat to serve (I return heat to medium while stirring occasionally, 5-10 minutes). Remove cloves and cinnamon sticks with a small slotted spoon or sieve. Serve. |
