This sounds like it would be really good. Guessing on prep and cook time. Ingredients:
3/4 c. sugar |
3 tbsps. cornstarch |
1/2 c. water |
3 egg yolks, (slightly beaten) |
2 tbsps. butter |
1 1/4 crushed pineapple |
recipe doesn't say how much pineapple so i am going to say 1 1/4 cup. |
Directions:
1. Mix sugar, cornstarch, water, egg yolks, butter, pineapple in heavy saucepan. 2. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. 3. Pour into baked pie shell. 4. Cover with meringue made from the three egg whites saved from above. 5. Bake until delicate brown. |
