To lower sodium, purchase a reduced-sodium ham and omit salt. Ingredients:
1 (10-pound) smoked ham |
3 tablespoons whole cloves |
1 (20-ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained |
2 cups pineapple juice |
1 1/2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar |
1 cup bourbon |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Remove skin and excess fat from ham. Score ham in a diamond design, and insert cloves at 1-inch intervals. Place ham in an aluminum foil-lined roasting pan. 2. Stir together pineapple and next 4 ingredients; pour over ham. Cover and chill 8 hours. 3. Bake ham at 350° for 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes. |
