If you prefer use beer instead of wine, and try and leave the batter for as long as possible before adding egg white...great after a nice chinese meal... Ingredients:
1/2 pineapple,peeled and sliced |
75g flour |
pinch of salt |
2 tsp caster sugar |
1 egg,seperated |
175ml white wine |
25g butter,melted |
oil for deep frying |
castr sugar for dusting |
Directions:
1. Cut pineapple peices in half. seive flour and salt into a mixing bowl.stir in the sugar,then gradually add the egg yolk and wine, until smooth, stir in the butter and leave to stand for 30 mins... 2. Whisk egg white until stiff, using a large metal spoon fold the whisked egg white gently into the batter mixture... 3. Heat the oil in a large pan, coat the pineapple peices in the batter mixture and quickly lower into the oil, cook for 2-3mins or until golden... 4. Remove from the pan and drain well on kitchen paper....dust with caster sugar and serve! |
