Canned pineapple gives this cheese ball a little extra flavor and sweetness. I recently brought this cheese ball to a party and even those who claim not to like pineapple were raving about how good it was and said it was addicting . This recipe makes two cheese balls, however, you may want to only take one cheese ball to your next party and keep the second for you and your family, as I'm sure there will not be any leftovers. I typically do not roll the the cheese ball in nuts, but do so if you wish. Ingredients:
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened |
1 cup minced celery |
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper |
1 teaspoon minced onion |
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained |
1 cup chopped pecans (optional) |
Directions:
1. 1. Be sure to drain the pineapple really well, otherwise it may turn out more like a dip rather than a cheese ball. 2. 2. Combine cream cheese, celery, bell pepper, onion, and crushed pineapple. 3. 3. Divide the mixture in half and shape into two balls. 4. 4. If desired, roll each ball in pecans. 5. 5. Chill several hours or overnight. 6. 6. Serve with crackers. |
