My mother makes this occasionally with ham for a *special* dinner. It is soooooooooo unbelievably good! It is served hot. (although I sometimes eat it cold it's so good!) It's also incredibly easy to make! Perfect for a holiday side dish! Ingredients:
7 slices white bread (cubed) |
1/2 cup margarine |
1 cup sugar |
4 eggs |
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple |
Directions:
1. CREAM margarine and sugar. 2. BEAT in eggs, one at a time. 3. STIR in pineapple (and its juice). 4. FOLD in bread cubes. 5. PlACE in buttered casserole dish. 6. BAKE at 350 for 45-60 minutes. |
