This recipe is from a 50th anniversary Hawaiian cookbook. It's very simple to make and not too sweet. Ingredients:
2 cups granulated sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
4 eggs |
20 ounces crushed pineapple, well drained |
1 cup chopped walnuts (can use more if you like) |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
Directions:
1. Put sugar in a mixing bowl. Melt butter and add to sugar. Mix well. Beat eggs well and add to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix together. Sift dry ingredients together and add to butter-sugar mixture. Add pineapple and nuts and mix. Pour into greased pan 10 1/2 x 15 x 2 inches. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Toothpick should come out clean. |
