I love any flavor of pound cake! 5 extract flavors used here will remind you of a pina colada! mmmm good! As presented on a local news program. Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened |
1/2 cup vegetable shortening |
3 cups sugar |
6 eggs, well beaten |
3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup whole milk |
1 teaspoon each: coconut, butter, pineapple, rum, and vanilla extracts |

1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup water |
1 teaspoon each: coconut, butter, pineapple, rum, and vanilla extracts |
Directions:
1. Cake: 2. In large bowl of a mixer, combine butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy. 3. Add eggs. 4. Combine flour and baking powder. 5. Add to cream mixture alternately with milk. 6. Stir in extracts. 7. Spoon batter into a greased 10-inch tube pan. 8. Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done. 9. Add glaze and cool in pan about 10 minutes before turning out. 10. Glaze: 11. In a saucepan, combine all ingredients and gently bring to a boil. Pour over cake in pan. Let cake sit in pan until cool. |
