A lovely, savory morsel from the Southern chapter of the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Arts Institute of Chicago, 1947. Ingredients:
12 oysters |
1 pimiento, pepper |
12 slices bacon |
salt |
pepper, and |
cayenne (to taste) |
Directions:
1. Season oysters. 2. Slice pimiento into 12 strips, placing one on each oyster. 3. Wrap each oyster in bacon and fasten with skewer or wooden toothpick. 4. Broil about 8 minutes or until bacon is golden brown and crisp. |
