A birthday party favourite that is a great alternative to greasy sausage rolls. Great for school lunches too Ingredients:
3 cups flour |
1 cup wholemeal flour |
2 tablespoons baking powder |
3 tablespoons polyunsaturated oil |
1 3/4 cups low-fat milk |
3 sausages, boiled and quartered length-wise |
1 cup tomato sauce or 1 cup tomato chutney |
Directions:
1. Mix the flours and baking powder together. 2. Make a well in the centre and add the oil and milk. 3. Mix to form a soft dough. 4. Divide the dough into 12 even-sized pieces. 5. Flatten each piece into a small square, spread with a little tomato sauce or chutney, place the quarter sausage on the dough and roll up. 6. Bake at 200°C for 10 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. |
