This is one of those once in a while recipes when you want something really good and really over the top. You could serve this with brunch or it also makes a really decadent appetizer. Ingredients:
1 lb little smokies sausage |
1 lb bacon |
1 1/2 cups brown sugar |
toothpick |
Directions:
1. Preheat broiler. 2. Spray broiler pan with nonstick cooking spray. 3. Cut bacon strips in half. 4. Wrap the little smokies with the halved bacon pieces and secure with toothpicks. 5. Place brown sugar in a shallow bowl or pie plate. 6. Drege smokies in brown sugar. 7. Place smoky/bacon bundles on greased broiler pan. 8. Sprinkle with remaining sugar. 9. Broil until bacon is done and sugar has caramelized. 10. Now, get ready to elbow everyone out of your way :). |
