I mixed this one up the other night, after picking apples. My DH said it was the best Monday night in a long time! You may double the recipe, and put in a larger baking dish. The pie plate size is just right for the two of us. Enjoy!! Ingredients:
5 cups apples, peeled and sliced |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1/8 cup sugar |
1 tablespoon flour |
1/2 cup flour |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup oatmeal |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
4 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients together, (except for the 1/8 cup sugar and the 1 Tbl. flour, as that gets mixed with the apples.), then cut in softened butter. 2. Put lemon juice in a glass pie plate. Peel, core and slice apples, putting in pie plate as you go, mixing with the lemon juice. 3. Mix the 1/8 cup sugar with the 1 Tbl. flour, mix into apples. 4. Top with crumb topping. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. 6. Serve warm with ice cream. |
