                    Fabulous for a dinner party! May be made in advance by a day. Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                6 cups water  |  
                                                2 lbs shrimp  |  
                                                1 onion, sliced into rings  |  
                                                2 1/4 ounces capers, drained  |  
                                                3 bay leaves  |  
                                                1 cup vegetable oil  |  
                                                3/4 cup water  |  
                                                1/4 cup lemon juice  |  
                                                2 1/2 teaspoons celery seeds  |  
                                                1 1/2 teaspoons salt  |  
                                                1 teaspoon white sugar  |  
                                                1/4 teaspoon tabasco sauce  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Boil Shrimp. 2. Drain well and rinse in cold water, and peel and de-vein. 3. Place 1/2 shrimp in large bowl. Cover with 1/2 the onion rings, and 1/2 the capers. 4. Repeat layering of shrimp, onion, and capers. 5. Top with bay leaves. 6. Combine all other ingredients, using a whisk to incorporate. 7. Pour marinade over shrimp. Cover tightly, and chill for at least 8 hours. 8. To serve, drain well and remove bay leaves.                              |
