We like okra about anyway. This pickle holds its own against the rest. Ingredients:
2 lbs small okra |
5 pods hot green or red pepper |
5 cloves garlic |
syrup |
1 qt. white vinegar |
1/2 cup water |
1 tbls. mustard or celery seed |
6 tbls. salt |
Directions:
1. Wash okra but do not puncture. Pack in jars. Boil together water, vinegar, salt and seeds. Pour over okra in jars. Add garlic and pepper to each pint jar. Seal. Wait 1 month before eating . This is the sour version can add sugar and or dill If desired . Makes 5 pints. |
