A nice sweet addition to a salad or side. beautiful color. My husband and Dad love this Ingredients:
5 c. vinegar |
1 c. water |
8 c. sugar |
Directions:
1. Wash and sterilize jars, seals and lids. 2. scrub beets and boil until tender,drain then cool enough to handle, then peel. 3. slice or dice beets and fill jars to 1 in below rim. 4. Bring to a boil: sugar, water and vinegar 5. Pour over beets. 6. make sure rim is free of anything and put on seal and rim. 7. As the jars cool , the seal will take. You will hear a pop 8. recipe can be halfed or quartered. I usually do 1/2 |
