Enjoy this sauce over omelets, burritos, spaghetti squash, pasta, or rice. This slow cooker recipe can easily be adapted to stove top. Ingredients:
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes |
1/4 cup lentils, rinsed |
2 medium onions, chopped |
5 garlic cloves, minced |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1/2 teaspoon cumin seed |
1 fresh green chile, minced |
1/2 cup medium-hot picante sauce |
Directions:
1. Combine the tomatoes, lentils, onions, garlic, sugar, cumin, chili, and picante sauce in an electric slow cooker. 2. Cover and cook on LOW until the lentils are tender, 6 to 8 hours. |
