This is the famous cake that all the girls at the office want for their birthday! This recipe comes from Phyllis Bailey from New Jersey. ENJOY! Ingredients:
3 cups sugar |
1 cup butter, real butter |
1/2 cup shortening, butter flavored |
6 large eggs |
3 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon table salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 cup whole milk |
1/2 cup butter, real butter |
2 cups powdered sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
3 1/2 tablespoons whole milk |
Directions:
1. Cream together sugar, butter and shortening (CRISCO) until light and fluffy. 2. Add eggs, one at a time. 3. Add flour and salt mixture alternating with milk and vanilla. 4. Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 1 1/2 hours at 325. 5. DO NOT PREHEAT OVEN BEFORE PUTTING THE CAKE IN! 6. ICING:. 7. Cream the butter until fluffy. 8. Add sugar alternating with the milk and vanilla until it is spreading consistency. |
