Phyllis was kind enough to allow us to use her fantastic Christmas cookie recipes for our Byrne Banner! Thank you Phyllis...I'll never forget the first year that I was at J. Byrne around the Christmas season. One day, I heard someone say, Phyllis cookies are in the kitchen! The next thing I know, the office is empty as everyone just RAN into the kitchen to sample her goodies. I had to go in and find out what was up and, low and behold, there was a huge mound of wonderful, homemade cookies awaiting our arrival. All I can say is YUM! NOTE: Yield amount is estimated as I have not had the pleasure of making these yet. Ingredients:
1 lb butter |
2 cups sugar |
4 egg yolks |
4 -5 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Cream together the butter, sugar and egg yolks. 3. Add in the flour, salt and vanilla. 4. Use your cookie press with the poinsettia disc on it and press cookie onto cookie sheet. Put a small piece of cherry in the center. 5. Bake for about 8 minutes. |
