Being from the Philadelphia area I know what a good cheesesteak tastes like. This is a twist on my favorite steak - wiz with. I got this idea from local restaurant and made my way. Ingredients:
1 lb. - shaved steak (or minute steak) |
1 tbs - vegetable oil |
1/2 cup - diced onions |
1 jar - cheese wiz |
10 - egg roll wraps |
2 cups - vegetable oil for frying |
season with salt & pepper |
Directions:
1. Heat skillet with the tablespoon oil over medium heat. 2. Add your onion cook and stir until onion is translucent. 3. Break up steak pieces and add into skillet; cook and stir until steak is no longer pink . Remove from heat and set aside. 4. Place wrap on to a clean dry surface with a corner facing you like a baseball diamond. 5. Place two tablespoons of beef and onions onto the center of an egg roll wrap, top with 1 - 2 tablespoons of cheese wiz. Don't over fill your wrapper. 6. Fold the corner closest to you over mixture, then flap side corners over and roll. Use water or egg wash to seal roll. 7. Heat and fill a high sided pan with 1 inch of oil. Slowly add the rolls in the hot oil and cook until golden brown on all sides. 8. Drain on paper towels and serve warm with ketchup. |
