Here's a spin-off of the popular Philadelphia cheese steak sandwhich. If you like, stir in some sliced hot Italain peppers- thats how many Philadelphians enjoy their cheese steak. Ingredients:
2 frozen chipped beef sandwhich steaks (about 2 oz. each) |
2 tbs. margarine or butter |
1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges |
1/2 small green pepper, cut into strips |
1 can (10 3/4 oz.) condensed cheddar cheese soup |
1 cup water |
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce |
1 1/2 cups chopped fresh or dried parsley. |
Directions:
1. Cut each steak into 2 by 1/2- inch strips. 2. In a 3- quart saucepan over medium heat, in hot margarine, cook onion, and pepper until tender, stirring occasionally. Add steak strips and cook meat until color just changes, stirring often. 3. Stir in soup until smooth. Gradually stir in water and worcestershire sauce, heat through. Serve with toasted bread cubes or use purchased seasoned croutons. |
