A German plum pie.... A very popular dessert..... Yummy! Ingredients:
pastry |
4c. all-purpose flour |
3sticks softened; unsalted butter |
1c. sugar |
1tsp. salt |
4 egg yolk (save whites) |
1tsp. vanilla |
filling |
3lb. purple or red plums;quartered |
1c. apricot or peach jam |
powdered sugar for dusting. |
Directions:
1. Make a dough combining all pastry ingredients. 2. Press the dough into a cookie sheet with your fingers, pushing dough up sides of pan forming a rim. 3. Spread a thin layer of peach or apricot jam on top of dough. 4. Now place plums in rows on the dough. 5. Beat egg whites slightly and brush over plums, sprinkle 2tbs. flour over egg whites. 6. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes. 7. Dust with powdered sugar on top upon serving... Enjoy.... |
