Orzo, or Rosamarina, is a rice-shaped pasta that cooks quickly. Adding the peas and pesto gives it a nice flavor. It makes a nice side dish to grilled chicken, oven-baked pork chops or anything you can think of. Ingredients:
1 cup orzo pasta, uncooked |
1 1/2 cups frozen peas |
1/4 cup pesto sauce |
1/3 teaspoon salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, cook orzo as directed on the package, adding the peas during the last 4 to 6 minutes of cooking time, cook until tender. 2. Drain excess liquid. Add pesto and toss gently to coat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Serve. 3. Makes 5 (3/4 cup) servings. |
