mung dal dosas, known as pesarattu in Andhra, is a lentil crepe, nutritious and filling. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups mung beans, mature seeds |
12 tsp oil |
4 peppers, green, hot |
1 tsp cumin |
1 small onion, chopped |
1 cup water |
1 salt to taste |
Directions:
1. rinse and soak the mung beans for about an hour. 2. coarse grind, adding the green peppers and salt using one cup of water 3. add the chopped onion and cumin. 4. heat griddle. 5. pour a laddle of the batter and spread into a circle about 5 inch in diameter. 6. pour half a tsp of oil around the outer edges of the circle. 7. cook for about 2 minutes, flip and cook the other side, adding another 1/2 tsp of oil. 8. serve with green chutney, mango pickle or idli powder. |
