I love this variation! It is a fun addition to bring to a seder for something a little different. I got this from my friend Dale who got it from a magazine article written by Joan Schwartz Michel Ingredients:
1/2 cup dates |
1/2 cup pistachios (shelled) |
1/4 cup almonds (shelled) |
1/4 cup raisins |
1 apple |
1 orange |
1 banana |
1 pomegranate, seeds from |
1/3 cup sweet wine |
2 tablespoons vinegar |
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves |
1/2 teaspoon cardamom |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
Directions:
1. Grind dates, pistachios, almonds and raisins in a chopper/blender into a paste. 2. Add apple, orange, banana, pomegranate seeds and blend until ingredients are incorporated but still chunky. 3. Gently stir in remaining ingredients. |
