I searched for this recipe for years after having the most perfect chocolate chip pie while I was in the hospital, of all places. I have tried making so many different chocolate chip pies, derby pies, kentucky nut pies, etc, etc, etc, BUT none of them were right! Finally, a gentleman at work brought this delicious pie to work for a Christmas party, and I snagged the recipe from him. And it turns out perfect every time! Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled |
2 eggs, beaten hard |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup pecans, chopped |
3/4 cup chocolate chips |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup plain flour |
1 pie crust, unbaked |
Directions:
1. Please make sure the butter (or margarine) has been melted and then cooled. 2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 3. Mix cooled butter, eggs, vanilla, pecans and chocolate chips. 4. In a separate bowl, mix together sugar and flour; add to the butter mixture. 5. Pour into the unbaked pie shell. 6. Bake for 30 minutes. |
