this is a country dish loved by my family Ingredients:
4 large thick green peppers |
8 large ripe tomatoes |
1/2 stick butter |
Directions:
1. cut or break peppers in rather large pieces and saute in butter until slightly soft and they startto brown. 2. use a large heavy skillet. peel tomatoes, cut in large peices and add to peppers. cook, uncovered, about 30 minutes or until the juices have thickened. add seasonings, i usesalt and pepper 3. and creole, a sprinkling of crushed red peppers and a fourth of a teaspoon of sugar 4. this is a wonderful side dish to use with most meat dishes, and is good the next day |
