As there are thousands of chili recipes around, you always have to try something new! This was a wee attempt at something new :) Ingredients:
1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef |
1-16 ounce can of kidney beans, drained and rinsed |
1-15 ounce can pizza sauce |
1-15 ounce can italian stewed tomatoes |
1-8 ounce can tomato sauce |
1-1-1/2 cups water |
1- 4 ounce package sliced pepperoni |
1/2 cup chopped green pepper |
1 teaspoon pizza seasoning or italian seasoning |
shredded mozzarella cheese or your personal favorite cheese |
baked potato, rice, or crusty bread drizzled with olive oil to serve. |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan or pot, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink. 2. Drain well. 3. Stir in beans, pizza sauce, tomatoes, tomato sauce,water, pepperoni, green pepper, seasoning and salt and pepper. 4. Bring to a boil 5. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes or until desired thickness is reached. 6. Garnish with cheese. 7. Serve over baked potato, rice or with some crusty bread drizzled with olive oil. |
