I met some really fantastic recently at a picnic and as soon as I tasted this bread I had to find out how they made it. I put my own spin on it and you can too by rolling up your own ingredients inside. Ingredients:
1 lb. bread dough. (from your local bakery, homemade, or from the grocery store) |
1 stick pepperoni (sliced) |
16 oz. part skim mozzarella (thinly sliced) |
1 egg |
1 clove garlic (minced) |
1 tsp oregano |
salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 2. Crack egg into small dish and mix with a fork 3. Grease a cookie sheet 4. Roll out dough into a long rectangle and place on baking sheet 5. Spread minced garlic onto bread 6. Sprinkle with Oregano 7. Salt & pepper as you see fit 8. Cover with slices of cheese & pepperoni 9. Starting with one of the long sides of the rectangle, roll up the dough 10. Seal edge with egg wash 11. Brush the top of the bread with the egg wash 12. Cut a few diagonal slits in the top of the bread 13. Bake for 30 mins 14. Let cool, slice & serve |
