These are very festive looking cookies on a platter.They do melt in your mouth. Ingredients:
1c butter,softened |
1/2c confectioners sugar |
1/2tsp peppermint extract |
11/4c flour |
1/2c cornstarch |
frosting |
2tbs butter,softened |
11/2c confectioners sugar |
2tbs milk |
1/4tsp peppermint extract |
2 to 3 drops red food coloring,optional |
1/2c crushed peppermint candies |
Directions:
1. In small mixing bowl,cream butter,and confectioners sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in extract. Combine flour and cornstarch;gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. 2. Shape into 1 balls. Place 2 apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 mins or intil bottoms are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. 3. In small mixing bowl, beat butter till fluffy. Add confectioners sugar,milk,extract and food coloring if desired;beat till smooth. Spread over cooled cookies;sprinkle with crushed candies. Store in airtight container. |
