This is a great winter treat from the February 2004 issue of New Jersey Monthly magazine. The recipe was submitted by Chef Eric Manuelli of Red Restaurant and Lounge, Red Bank. Ingredients:
1 cup heavy cream |
2 cups milk |
1/4 cup sugar |
8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, plus extra for shaving |
1/2 teaspoon peppermint oil |
whipped cream |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients (except the shaved chocolate and whipped cream) and carefully bring to a simmer. 2. Serve hot, garnished with a dollop of whipped cream and chocolate shavings. |
